Steve
Morrison or Stevie Wonder as he is so affectionately known
as due to his remarkable vocal talents, that are not to
dissimilar to the great soul legend of the same monika.
Born
in England and at the tender age of seven left with his
famlily for Jamaica, where they took up residence.
After spending ten wonderful years in Jamaica, he then
left and went back to England were he met up with his
family who were still living there. Knowing that
at a very tender age he would be involved in the entertainment
business but not knowing in what way !
Living
with his cousin in Birmingham who was also a musician
working with a local band named Beshara. He travelled
with them throughout the U.K and was encouraged by them
to learn to play an instrument and join the band.
He then decided to take up the trombone in which
he had never played before in his life, within two weeks
he was doing his first live performace and the rest is
history.
Steve
is the lead vocalist and trombone player with Reggae Revolution,
who achieved star status as one of the best live bands
in the world and who have toured consistently behind UK
reggae giant Pato Banton for the last 15 years.
Steve
and Pato have been very good friends and have worked together
for a long number of years. In conjunction with
Pato released a number of albums worldwide, having over
five top ten singles, including Groovin featuring
Steve.
"...the
vocal dexterity of his voice, being silky smooth yet at
the same time soulful and strong..."

Groovin
highlights the vocal dexterity of his voice, being silky
smooth yet at the same time soulful and strong, to this
day it is still one of the most requested songs on South
American radio stations and as part of the live shows
ensure that the finale is something special.
Steve
Morrison, the artist has evolved over this period and
addition to fronting the Reggae Revolution has taken time
out to tour with such names as Aswad, Musical Youth,
Steel Pulse, Beres Hammond, Luciano, I Jahman Levi
and many more names, as well as featuring on major TV
shows like Top of Pops with Sting.
Now
with the new dawning of the millennium it is time to open
the next chapter of Steve's fantastic career with this
Reggae Revolution CD, entitled This Is The Reggae Revolution,
which was produced with the Reggae Revolution Band
and long time collaborators Mikey Nanton Angus Jones,
themselves having a list of credits too long to mention,
they deliver a cross section of musical styles and genre
to ensure that everybody's tastes and demands are met.
I
am looking forward to the future, working with some of
the younger generation who have a lot of talent, but have
not enough guidance to help them to develop their aspirations
and hope I can be an inspiration to them. |
